The Las Hoyas Viewpoint offers one of the most spectacular views of the Tazacorte coastline. From this point, you can see the Aridane Valley, the banana plantations that reach the sea, and, on clear days, the outline of the island of El Hierro on the horizon.
It is a perfect place to understand the geography and duality of the municipality: the green fertility of the crops versus the blue immensity of the ocean.
After the eruption of the volcano, this viewpoint has also become a privileged space to observe the new landscape shaped by the lava. At dusk, the light bathes the coast in golden and orange tones, offering one of La Palma’s most photogenic sunsets.
What to do at the Las Hoyas Viewpoint?
- Enjoy the panoramic views of the coast and the banana plantations.
- Photograph the sunset or the contrasting colors of the valley.
- Make a stop during the coastal route towards La Bombilla or the Lighthouse.
- Observe how the agricultural landscape coexists with the traces of the volcano.
